That Was Then...

In the early 1980s, a retail buyer for an auto accessories chain had a simple idea: to make a better steering wheel cover. He noticed a lot of luxury cars hitting the road and a lack of quality, leather covers for drivers to protect their investment. It was then that Classic Accessories was born.

In 1984, Jacob Engelstein took his leather steering wheel covers to market. Having the insight of a retail buyer, he knew what retailers and consumers wanted: quality workmanship, in an attractive package, at a good value.

With a toddler at their feet and a baby on the way, Jacob and his wife Barb set up shop in their basement in Seattle’s Roosevelt neighborhood. With the help of two business partners and a few Sales Reps, Classic Accessories’ covers started appearing in auto parts and accessories stores across the country.
...And This Is Now

Jacob and his growing team gradually expanded their business and moved out of the basement. Today, with over 500 products in eight categories, Classic Accessories protects your investment and keeps you organized in all your outdoor activities. Whether you are an avid hunter or fly fisher, love boating or RVing or just want to protect your home tools and equipment, Classic Accessories is continually growing and creating products to fit your needs.

Classic Accessories’ commitment to research, design, development and quality have established us as an industry leader in outdoor covers and gear. We are proud to represent brands such as John Deere, Stearns® and Cub Cadet through our licensee partnerships.

Now over 60 employees, some overseeing production abroad, share Jacob’s unyielding commitment to innovation, collaboration, and quality at every stage of the product lifecycle—from design to delivery – whether it be a steering wheel cover, an RV cover, or something in between.
